Caution: Animal Rights Activists Masquerading as Hunters

"... In my previous thread on the ban on preserve hunting they are pushing in North Dakota, I got engaged in a conversation with a person claiming to be a hunter in the comments, until I noticed his what his IP address resolved to on ARIN. Be careful out there folks. These people are slick. The person you’re speaking with claiming to be a hunter may very well be an animal rights activist trying to divide the community..." MORE

Another Mayor Drops Membership in "Mayors Against Illegal Guns"

"Since its creation, Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG) has signed up a large number of committed anti-gun politicians to its ranks. It has also signed up some politicians who failed to realize the true anti-gun nature of MAIG. A number of those mayors have resigned their membership when they learned the truth.

This past week, yet another mayor, Village of Walton Hills, Ohio Mayor Marlene Anielski (R), has resigned her membership. Mayor Anielski informed the Buckeye Firearms Association of her decision, reporting that she had not realized the real agenda of MAIG. In fact, she reported, she and her husband are NRA life members!... MORE

Colorado Springs police may sell seized firearms

"Reporting from Colorado Springs, Colo. - This conservative city is taking an unusual, some might say extreme, step to try to stem its fiscal woes: It's entering the gun business.

The Colorado Springs City Council is expected in coming weeks to approve the final details of a program that would allow the Police Department to sell confiscated firearms to federally licensed gun dealers. Police have already stopped melting down the hundreds of guns they collect from crime scenes, drug houses or civilians who don't need them anymore... MORE"

Bloomberg Wants to "Counter" the NRA

"On an appearance on "Meet the Press," Bloomberg announced that he would raise money to counter the influence of the NRA. Bloomberg was on the show to trumpet the 39 votes he was able to muster to squeak out a narrow defeat of national Right-to-Carry reciprocity. (To read more about the Thune/Vitter amendment, click here.) He took the opportunity to lament that the NRA has so much influence -- and took upon himself the role of countering that influence..." HERO OF THE DAY - Suspect shot in pizza-joint robbery attempt

"...The 43-year-old store owner pushed away the would-be robber's gun, and then a friend of the owner who was inside the shop tried to wrestle the gun away from the man, police said. During the struggle, the robber fired two shots, but no one was injured, O'Brien said. The owner, who had a permit to carry a concealed weapon, then pulled out his own firearm and shot the man in the back and shoulder, police said..." MORE

John Stossel Links Gun Control to Higher Crime Rates

New anti-gun strategy: Demonize CCW holders

"...what we get from the gun prohibitionists is a steady diet of fear mongering with but one purpose: The stripping of a fundamental civil right to keep and bear arms so that we lose our ability to exercise that most basic of human rights, that of self-preservation.
Nowadays, about the only form of acceptable overt social bigotry is against gun owners. The gun bigots argue that when one person with a gun does something heinous, all gun owners are expected to bear responsibility, and surrender their rights as though it would undo the crime..." MORE

8 dead in fiery wrong-way crash. Drunk and high on pot

"The Long Island mom behind the wheel in a fiery wrong-way crash along a Westchester highway was drunk on vodka and had high levels of marijuana in her system -- a deadly mix that killed her and seven others, authorities said today..." MORE

I also read today that 5 are dead and 15 wounded as a gunman opened fire with a handgun in a gym full of women who were working out (MORE). Of course this was a very tragic event, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time before the 'anti's' exploit this story to push for additional gun control and loss of the constitutionally protected right of self defense. Above we have another story where a motor vehicle, vodka and marijuana were involved in the death of 8. I wonder if there will also be a call for stronger laws against drinking, pot and drunk driving?

Let's listen to how these stories are covered by the left-wing press. I wonder how the gym massacre would have turned out if one of the woman carried a concealed handgun? I assure you it would have ended quickly leaving many less innocent women dead. You know the news will never ponder that question.

Louisiana lawmaker proposes ban on tax hikes for guns and ammo
